Following Sega's exit from the console business in 2001, the game was ported to GameCube and Xbox as Episode I & II, featuring new characters, environments and other features. Phantasy Star Online was ported to Microsoft Windows and rereleased on Dreamcast as Ver. It received the Japan Game Award for "Game of the Year" and is recognized as a landmark console game, influencing multiplayer dungeon crawlers such as the Monster Hunter series. I don't so I wouldn't get it personally.Phantasy Star Online is an online role-playing game (RPG) developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega in 2000 for the Dreamcast. As a gamer, it really depends on whether or not you like hack and slash. It takes strategy to make a good deck and you have to make interesting choices in a duel. I prefer Phantasy Star Online Episode 3 to it as it plays more like a tactical game where you move on a grid, equip weapons or summon monsters. There's no skill to this, there's nothing special about this. You then sell the loot or re-equip your item and repeat. You just move into another generic room, press the attack button and carry loot. My opinion is that, yes I own the game, but I really, REALLY dislike this type of gameplay. Diablo 3, Path of Exile, Guild Wars 2, etc. And if it does, there are plenty of games today that do the same thing. So you have to ask yourself if slashing monsters for items is something that sounds appealing to you. You keep doing this for better item drops. If you are a collector, then it's definitely a decent price.
